Tip #1: When You Don’t Feel Like it, Do It Anyway
That’s easier said than done. But the truth is, when you don’t feel like doing something, that’s the exact moment when you need to push yourself to do it.
Why? Because it’s the Law of Inertia — a body in motion tends to stay in motion. So start by doing something small. Tell yourself, “I’ll reach out to 1 person today”. Pretty soon, that one person will turn into 3, 4, 5, and why not even more?
Tip #2: This is Your Business
How badly do you want to succeed?
The sad truth about Network Marketing is that many people quit because the entry barrier is low. They think to themselves, “This only cost me $200, so it’s ok if I leave it”.
But think about this: if you had invested $2,000 or $20,000, would your mindset change?
This is a business, just like any other, so treat as such. And give it a chance to gain traction! You don’t expect a traditional business to become profitable immediately after launch, right? So why would your Network Marketing business be any different?
Tip #3: Focus On Your Goals
What’s easier: to do a follow-up call with a prospect or to turn on the TV?
There will always be a reason why not do something and focus on what’s easy.
Sure, it’s easier not to do a Facebook Live; it’s easier not to reach out to people; it’s easier not to read a book. Yes, it’s so much easier to watch that movie and “live” someone else’s life for a couple of hours. But what you’re doing is watching other people’s dreams… And it’s time to stop!
So move the TV out of your bedroom. Stop watching YouTube all the time. And if any friends or family members are constantly telling you how your business is not going to work, have an honest conversation with them about how their negativity is affecting you. Remember: stay focused!
Tip #4: Get Comfortable with Being Uncomfortable
Have you ever felt embarrassed to reach out to someone because you’re not making as much money as you’d like to?
The irony of it is that you need to reach out to people in order to make money! So let’s stop this Catch 22!
All those awkward conversations you’ve had or Live videos that went horribly wrong? You can look at them and say:
“I failed, this is not for me…”
OR
“Yes, I failed but this will be a funny story to tell someday when I’m successful!”
Don’t get bitter, get better and embrace the suck! There’s no way around it. You’ll be bad before you’re good, good before you’re great, and great before you’re exceptional! And all those speed bumps along the way? They’ll make for hilarious anecdotes when you’re speaking on stage!
Tip #5: Work, Work, Work
Rihanna was right! You need to “work, work, work, work, work”!
As amazing as personal development is, you’ll learn so much more from practical experience!
So establish this rule: for every personal development video or course you watch, and for every book you read, commit to implementing at least 1 tip/strategy that you’ve learned! That way not only will your business improve but you’ll start to gain momentum!
Tip #6: Have Perspective
Why aren’t you reaching out to the number of people you know you should be? Are you afraid they’ll reject you?
Let’s get our priorities straight. What’s more frightening: 1 person telling you “I’m not interested right now” or waking up at 90 and realizing that you didn’t live the life you wanted because you were too afraid to even try?
So keep repeating to yourself that it will all be worth it! And you know what? It will be!
PRO Tip: … YET!
Remember this word! Because it’s what will determine your success!
You’re not making enough sales… yet. Or you’re not recruiting enough business partners… yet. And your business might not be where you want it to be… yet!
Change is constant! Success comes after every failure, and the only thing you need to do is keep going. Keep showing up and keep delivering. Because it’s ALL going to make sense in the end!
